SACOS EN EL PACÍFICO (2023)
Work in reference to those who in the Chilean military civic dictatorship were executed and thrown into the sea. Prior to being thrown, they were injected with poison and fragments of rails were tied to their bodies with wire, to be later covered with two sacks that were attached to the center, one placed on the upper part of the body and the other on the lower part.
The piece shows empty sacks, which together are equivalent to the size of a body, an absent body. The vertical arrangement of the sacks speaks of the fall and when they are attached to the walls they become a memory device.
The action was carried out in the Pacífico neighborhood, located in the city of Madrid. This sector of the city was chosen for the name of the sea where the people were disappeared, the Pacific Ocean.
