RESTOS DE BANDERA DE CHILE QUEMADA DISPUESTOS EN UN SOBRE ADHERIDO A MURO DE LA EMBAJADA CHILENA EN ESPAÑA (2023)
Fixation of the envelope on the wall of the front of the building of the Chilean embassy in Spain, located at Calle de Lagasca 88, Madrid. The envelope contained remains of the Chilean flag previously burned.
The choice of the envelope as an object refers to the understanding of it as a message symbol. It is linked to formal, protocol and bureaucratic communication, the way in which documents are delivered in institutions such as embassies (authoritarian regulatory base of a State within another territory). The envelope on the outside did not contain any type of indication or data, presenting itself anonymously and threateningly. Inside, the burned Chilean flag is presented as a declaration of principles consistent with an anti-nationalist and anarchist position.
